Clothing certifications for the industrial sector

EN 1149-5:2008 - Electrostatic Properties - Specifies material and design requirements for electrostatic dissipative protective clothing, including hoods and hats, used as part of a total earthed system to prevent flammable discharges, achieving the minimum ignition energy of an explosive atmosphere is not less than 0.016 mJ.

EN ISO 11611:2015 A1 Class 1 - Welding Protection - Specifies the minimum basic safety requirements and test methods for protective clothing, including hoods, aprons, sleeves and gaiters, designed to protect the wearer's body, including the head (hoods) and feet (gaiters), which must be worn during welding and related processes with similar risks.

EN ISO 11612:2015 A1 B1 C1 E1 F1 - Heat & Flame Protection - Specifies performance requirements for protective clothing made of flexible materials, which are designed to protect the wearer's body, excluding the hands, from heat and/ or flames.

IEC 61482-2:2009 Class 1 ATPV 10.4 cal/cm2 - Electric Arc Protection - Specifies requirements and test methods applicable to materials and garments for protective clothing for electricians against the thermal hazards of an electric arc.

EN 13034:2005+A1:2009 Type 6 - Chemical Protection - Specifies the minimum basic safety requirements and test methods for protective clothing, including hoods, aprons, sleeves and gaiters, designed to protect the wearer's body, including the head (hoods). and feet (gaiters), which must be worn during welding and related processes with similar risks.

Shoe certifications for the industrial sector

Safety shoes are an integral part of industrial workwear because they protect workers' feet from injury from falling objects, sharp objects, chemical spills and electrical hazards. These shoes are specially designed with reinforced toes and soles, and are often made of materials such as leather, rubber or synthetic composites to provide optimal protection. In addition, they are ergonomically designed to provide comfort during long working days and feature non-slip soles to reduce the risk of slips and falls, especially on slippery surfaces.

EN ISO 20345 - Safety Footwear - specifies basic and additional (optional) requirements for safety footwear used for general purpose use. It includes, for example, mechanical risks, slip resistance, thermal risks and ergonomic behavior. Specific risks are addressed by additional occupational standards (e.g. footwear for firefighters, electrically insulating footwear, protection against chainsaw injuries, protection against chemicals and molten metal splashes, protection for motorcyclists).

S1P - S1P safety shoes, similar to S1 shoes, are equipped with a safety toe cap for protection against falling objects and an anti-perforation sole that prevents sharp objects from entering your safety shoe through the sole, making them ideal for dry environments with potentially sharp objects on the floor .

S3 - Safety shoes S3 have the classification S3, in English also wel Called S3 safety shoes, they meet strict European standards and offer excellent protection against various risks in the workplace. The S3 category is therefore the highest safety standard for work shoes. The S3 safety shoes have, among other things, a safety toe for protection against falling objects, an anti-perforation sole that prevents sharp objects from entering your safety shoe through the sole, and an energy-absorbing heel and closed heel for extra safety. In addition, they are antistatic, water-resistant and have a non-slip profile.

In short, industrial work poses several risks, but through the proper use of quality workwear and safety footwear, workers can be protected from injury and accidents, while maintaining comfort and a professional appearance.
